Southbury: Local Attorney Selected as Fellow
SOUTHBURY — Southbury attorney Kathy S. Bower, of the law firm Gager, Bower & Scalzo, LLP, has been selected as a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America.
Ms. Bower is a managing partner at the firm’s Southbury branch. She is admitted to practice law in three states: Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. She serves as a special master in the United States District Court and attorney trial referee arbitrator and fact finder at the Superior Court. She is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court.
The LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society composed of less than a half of a percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels and superior ethical reputation.
The number of fellowships has been kept at an exclusive limit by design, allowing qualifications, diversity and inclusion to align effectively, with recognition of excellence in litigation across all segments of the bar. Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level or are independent practitioners with recognized experience and accomplishment. In addition, the LCA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy, professionalism and ethical standards among its fellows.
Ms. Bower is also a board member at the Audubon Center at the Bent of the River, Southbury Community Trust Fund and Southbury Perpetual Fund. She is past president of the Southbury Business Association and current chair of the Pomperaug Regional YMCA Community Center project.
